Craft beer has proved so popular over the last couple of decades that we now have hotels offering special services just to attract beer lovers. From centuries-old breweries housed in beer hotels to spas that offer treatments using beer as the essential ingredient, the following 10 hotels offer the most delightful experiences for those who cannot resist the charms of hops.

Landhotel Beverland (Germany)

The Landhotel Beverland has 62 individually decorated guest rooms based on diverse themes like the middle ages, Star Wars or a treehouse. Three of the themed rooms are devoted to beer alone and are equipped with beds inside huge 19th century wooden barrels which were used to store beer until 1995.

Guests can arrange visits to the spectacular barrel-sauna and join one of the beer tasting sessions organised by the hotel with Rainer Diekmann, one of the first and most recognized sommeliers from Germany.

The Kerry 4 star hotel has a unique bar: The BREW, a brewery of Australian contemporary design that mixes modern décor with a friendly atmosphere. It offers six different varieties of beer and a cider, all distilled on the hotel premises by the resident brew master, Leon Mickelson.

Located in the rural district of Erding in the State of Bavaria, the 4-star Zum Erdinger Weißbräu has an extensive brewing heritage dating back to 1537, almost 480 years ago! Since 1886, it has served as the headquarters of Erdinger Weissbräu, the world’s largest wheat brewery. Three times a day tours of the brewery’s facilities are conducted which can be easily booked at the hotel reception.

Among the hotel’s 33 elegant and individualised rooms, beer lovers might want to spend a night in the Brewer’s Suite, which uses beer barrels as supporting elements in the room’s tables – perfect for those who want to drink beer, and dream beer. If you are also feeling a little peckish for some good old Bavarian food, the hotel’s restaurant serves typical Bavarian cuisine with waiters wearing traditional costumes (leather pants anyone?) from the region. Each of the 37 rooms at Brauerei Zur Malzmühle is equipped with huge beds designed in the style of a beer keg made of wood and comes equipped with WiFi. Beautifully restored, Landwehrbräu is renowned for its homely atmosphere, tradition and excellent hospitality. Beers are made on-site by hand and all the ingredients used are produced locally.
